Lexington, KY (October 6, 2010) – Only days before competing in the Combined Driving event at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, Combined Driver Chester Weber took to the airwaves to talk about the Games, his team of horses and his desire to keep things natural and simple. Weber, who was at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, was a guest on Holistic Horse Radio with LA Pomeroy.

As the reigning USEF National Four-In-Hand Champion for a record eight years in a row, Weber will drive into the Games with all eyes on his team of bay Dutch horses. Well known for setting goals and achieving them, Weber said his goal at these Games – his third time to compete in the World Equestrian Games – is to do his best. “I really am ready for these Games and I do believe I have my best team ever,” Weber said. “I have a fantastic organization around me from my horses to my team of people. We are going to go out and give it our best.”

Weber, who is sponsored by Arenus, a premier provider of innovative health and nutritional products for pets and horses, is a longtime user of EQUILITE products, from the Arenus line, which includes SORE NO-MORE. “Combined driving horses need to have very strong backs, it really is their foundation, so we rely on the Sore No-More liniment to keep my horses comfortable and free of pain, which in turn helps the horses to do their job,” Weber said.

While on the Holistic Talk Radio show, Weber said he considers himself “a bit of a naturalist” and spoke of his desire to keep things as natural as possible for not only his horses, but also his staff. “When we are at a competition I cook for the grooms and staff. The night before the marathon I make lasagna for everyone,” Weber said, adding that he watches what he eats and also exercises regularly.

Radio host Pomeroy asked Weber how he keeps his horses looking so well groomed and fit, and while Weber credited a sound nutritional program he also said there was no replacement for good old-fashioned elbow grease. The horses Weber will be competing at the Games include Horus Du Bois, Grumus, Rolex W, Para and Boy W.
