Charleston Summer Classic Adds Ring
June 9, 2012 – ST JOHNS ISLAND, SC – Bob Bell, President of the Classic Company, had several announcements for the summer season. Among the biggest is new sponsor Equestrian Connect partnering with Classic Company to provide electronic entry submissions.
“Thanks to Equestrian Connect, the days of paper forms and the hassle of mailing or finding a fax machine while on the road are now a thing of the past! Classic Company couldn’t be happier to introduce this new service to our exhibitors,” Bell said.
The 2012 Charleston Summer Classics will be the debut event for Equestrian Connect’s streamlined entry service. “We look forward to working with the Classic Company to improve the entry process for exhibitors and show office staff,” Barbara Phillips, co-founder of Equestrian Connect, said. The online process will ensure entries are legible and complete, thus saving time and money for both the event staff and exhibitors. More news for the Charleston Summer Classics includes the addition of a new ring at the Mullet Hall Equestrian grounds just in time to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Summer Classics and the NickerDoodles $25,000 Hunter Pony Derby Classic during week two (July 17-21). “The new ring is great for our event in two regards: first being the anticipated numbers for this year’s show, especially in our pony population, and secondly the new arena ensures early finishes to our show days, allowing even more vacation time to take advantage of all the beautiful Carolina Coast has to offer,” Bell said.
Immediate Summer News starts at the Atlanta Summer Classics – June 13 through 24 – with return of High Point Awards. “Classic Company is going to award, at every horse show, each week, starting in Atlanta, a High Point Hunter and High Point Jumper award. We’ll start with a special silver tray, but that could become something larger as we go forward. The award will be based on championship points minus model classes,” Bell shared.
And of course the biggest Summer News is the upcoming inaugural NickerDoodles $25,000 Hunter Pony Derby Classics that will premiere during the Atlanta Summer Classic Week II (June 20-24) at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers, GA.
“Classic Company is thrilled about the NickerDoodles-sponsored historic pony events! These are going to be wonderful events for our very talented young competitors and an excellent prep opportunity for the upcoming USEF Pony Finals in late summer,” Bell said.
