Dade City, FL (March 7, 2011) – Chester Weber, the eight-time USEF National Four-In-Hand Combined Driving Champion, proved during The Little Everglades International Combined Driving Event that he could add new horses to his team and still drive into the winner’s circle. Weber, with the new addition of Jane Forbes Clark’s horses, Uniek and Splash, won the FEI Four-In-Hand Division at Little Everglades, a USEF Selection Trial.

“I was pleased with Uniek and Splash and feel that they have made great additions to our depth,” Weber said, following his win at Little Everglades. “I will continue to show them in an effort to learn about them at competitions and how they react.”

Weber added that competing at Little Everglades was a great experience. “The Blanchard’s, owners of Little Everglades Ranch, and Susan Gilliland and her team did a super job organizing the show,” Weber said. “The course was considerably technical in nature and the two new horses were great on the marathon, very straight forward and easy to drive.”

Little Everglades Ranch, in Dade City, Florida, debuted the Little Everglades International Combined Driving Event in January of 2010. The staff at Little Everglades said they were not only excited to be part of the Driving Community, but thrilled to be involved with Weber, one of the most decorated combined driver’s in the United States.

Weber was pleased with his win at Little Everglades and said the competition was great preparation for the Live Oak International Combined Driving Event, Team Weber’s next competition. During Little Everglades, Weber competed Reno in the right wheel, Senate in the left wheel, Uniek in the left lead and Splash in the right lead. “Uniek was perfect in the dressage phase and I am really impressed with his abilities,” Weber said.

Weber said he believes Uniek and Splash are two of the most talented horses in the sport. “I feel very fortunate to add them to my team and believe they fit in well with my goals of preparing for the 2012 World Championships in Riesenbeck and the 2014 World Equestrian Games in France,” Weber said, adding that winning  another USEF National title at the Laurels in Unionville, Pennsylvania in September, is also his goal. “It would be nice to have a ninth win with Uniek and Splash being part of it.”
