Ocala, FL (May 23, 2011) – The new documentary “BUCK,” based on the true story of cowboy Buck Brannaman, depicts the life and times of the genuine horse whisperer. Chester Weber, the eight-time USEF National Four-In-Hand Combined Driving Champion, has joined forces with Juliet Weber Reid, Jazz Johnson Merton and Georgina Bloomberg to support the movie, which is sure to enthrall horse lovers of all kinds.

Presented by REACT to FILM, the screening will take place Monday, June 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the SoHo House in New York. “‘BUCK’ has already won numerous film festival awards and it is an uplifting documentary,” Weber said. “The real life Buck will be on hand at the screening, along with the film’s director. They will do a question and answer segment after the film.”

Dennis and Coralie Paul founded REACT to FILM, a nonprofit organization that leverages documentary filmmaking to activate young people on social issues. The film follows the life of Brannaman from his abusive childhood to his phenomenally successful approach to horses. A real-life horse whisperer, Brannaman eschews the violence of his youth to teach people how to communicate with their horses through leadership and sensitivity, not punishment.

“BUCK” won the 2011 Sundance Film Festival Audience Award, the 2011 SXSW Film Festival Official Selection, the 2011 Full Frame Documentary Film Festival Audience Award, the 2011 Crossroads Film Festival Best Documentary Award and the 2011 True/False Film Festival Official Selection. The documentary is being touted as an American story about an unsung hero and the film’s promos say that “BUCK” is about an ordinary man who has made an extraordinary life despite tremendous odds. The film was directed by Cindy Meehl, with Julie Goldman as the producer and Meehl as the Executive Producer.

Weber, who is from Ocala, Florida and is based out of Live Oak Plantation, said he is honored to support the award-winning movie. Weber is no stranger to winning, as he and his team of award-winning horses competed in the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Kentucky and helped the U.S. team clinch the Silver Medal. In addition to the World Equestrian Games, Weber broke his own record in March of 2010 when he won the USEF National Four-In-Hand Championship for an eighth year in a row.

Weber is currently preparing for the 2012 World Championships in Riesenbeck and the 2014 World Equestrian Games in France. First, however, Weber has his sights set on winning another USEF National title at the Laurels in Unionville, Pennsylvania in September.
