September 2, 2012 – Petaluma, California – Chelsea Jones was awarded a $3,000 bonus by SSG Riding Gloves as part of its ‘Go Clean for the Green’ promotion after winning the $15,000 Italian Equestrian Grand Prix on August 25 during the HMI August Classic at the Sonoma Horse Park in Petaluma, CA.

Riding Magno LS, Jones was one of seven riders to advance to the jump-off in the $15,000 Italian Equestrian Grand Prix.  Another faultless performance in a time of 45.35 seconds secured the win, as well as a bonus of $3,000 from SSG Riding Gloves.  The bonus money had grown to $3,000 as the previous two $1,000 bonuses had not been claimed.

Jones, 25, works as an assistant trainer to Dusty Blackwood of Full Circle Farm and has been partnered with Magno LS, a 12-year-old grey stallion bred in Mexico, for the past two years.  She plans to put her winnings from the SSG ‘Go Clean for the Green’ promotion towards a vacation in Hawaii.

“I love that they come in a large variety of sizes so they always seem like a custom fit,” said Jones of her SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves.  “The durability is excellent; riding as many horses as I do each day, I still haven’t destroyed them.  That is truly a record for me!”

Simonne Berg won the $1,500 Draper Therapies Children/Adult Amateur Jumper Classic as well as a $1,000 cash bonus following a week of success at the HMI August Classic.  The 16-year-old was double clear to take the win with Limerick, her Connemara pony.  Like Jones, Berg also plans to put her bonus money towards a trip, although Greece is the destination she has in mind.

“They are easier to grip with than any other gloves I’ve tried,” said Berg, who trains with Meredith Herman of Burgundy Farms.  “They hold up to the wear and tear of the jumper ring.  SSG is all I wear now when I ride in shows or for schooling.”
