Lexington, KY – November 3, 2012 – The Alltech Arena was filled with top junior talent as riders showcased their mounts during the handy and stake classes this afternoon at the Alltech National Horse Show, 129th Edition. Victoria Colvin and Inclusive were awarded the Large Junior 15 and Under Championship for their efforts throughout the division. They were also presented with the Overall Junior Hunter Grand Championship for their first-rate placings over the last two days.

Inclusive with Victoria Colvin in the irons earned the top call in the $7,500 Large Junior 15 and Under Hunter Stake this afternoon. Coupled with their sweep of the over fences yesterday, they scored the division’s championship tricolor. Hannah Showell and Just Dessert, owned by Rolling Acres Farm of Brookeville, MD, rode to the reserve championship honors with their consistent ribbons.

“He is jumping higher and higher, to the in and out today he really surprised me with his jump,” Colvin laughed. “It can be a little surprising. He gets there and just explodes of the ground. He is getting more comfortable with showing.”

Asbury, NJ – November 3, 2012 – The Ridge at Riverview hosted its fourth annual Asbury Classic in early October, the crowning jewel to their very successful 2012 Hunter/Jumper Horse Show series held in scenic Asbury, New Jersey. The show saw top competitors gather to contend for the coveted prizes in their respective divisions. The show was highly successful with phenomenal sponsorships, fabulous exhibitor amenities and a fantastic turnout for the 2012 Asbury Classic.

The beautiful facility is run by Nona Garson and George D’Ambrosio, both of whom have been involved with show jumping at its highest levels for most of their lives. “George and I have made it our goal with this facility to bring quality, hospitality, and atmosphere back to American Show Jumping, something that’s been lost at so many of the venues where we compete today,” Garson said. “Not enough attention is given to the beauty of the surroundings or the exhibitor experience. I want our exhibitors to feel as if they are at Lake Placid or The International Show at Monterrey, not just another cookie cutter horse show. We have gone to great lengths to make our exhibitors feel special and surround them with beauty.”

East Aurora – November 2, 2012 – Katie Robinson of Deeridge Farm scored another major victory with her veteran mount Rock Steady on October 24, 2012. The pair was in top form during the prestigious Washington International Horse Show, claiming the Amateur-Owner 36 & Over Hunter Championship.

Robinson and Rock Steady have been dominating the Amateur-Owner Hunter division all year, and their success continued during their most recent stop at the Washington International Horse Show. She piloted the talented gelding to wins in the under saddle class and the first over fences class. Their efforts were good enough to take home the championship title.

“This has been really fun,” commented Robinson. “I feel like I was fortunate enough to give him a couple of months off before Indoors. It has just been an awesome year, and Rock Steady always seems to rise to the occasion. Today I felt like the stake round was hands down the best round I have had on him, we had a light rub in the in-and-out, but other than that, I thought it was a great round — things were clicking. We just have a ball out there. If I could dream of the perfect horse, it would be him — perfect jump, best canter and a great guy.”

Lexington, KY – November 2, 2012 – Great Britain’s Tim Gredley proved to be one of the world’s bravest riders this evening when he galloped up to a 7’6″ wall aboard his talented mount Unex Valente. The pair was already champions of the $50,000 Puissance at Alltech National Horse Show, 129th edition after being the only horse and rider combination to clear the 7″ wall. Although they were unsuccessful during their final attempt, the crowd was on their feet to cheer on the brave rider at the Alltech Arena in Lexington, KY.

Eight entries gathered for tonight’s class to jump the wall built by Richard Jeffery of Bournemouth, England, the first time this show had hosted the event in 11 years. For the first round the jump was set at 5’9″, but as the height rose the number of riders left continued to dwindle. First it went up to 6’3″, then 6’6″ and finally for a brave final three, 7′.

Having successfully completed all three of the first heights, Gredley was the first to make the daunting gallop towards the in-gate with Unex Valente, owned by Unex Competition Yard. The pair made it look easy, clearing the wall with all the pieces intact.

Lexington, KY – October 31, 2012 – The Grand Champion Professional Hunter title at the Alltech National Horse Show, 129th Edition, is one of the country’s most coveted awards, and this year it went to Elizabeth Boyd aboard Casallo. The pair swept the over fences classes in the Regular Conformation Hunters for the division’s championship award, and eventually the Grand Championship. Scott Stewart claimed two championship honors and the Leading Rider Award, while Victoria Colvin and Inclusive swept the over fences classes in the Second Year Green Working Hunters.

Today’s Grand Champion Professional Hunter title was very special for Boyd, who has never earned the prestigious title. She and Casallo, owned by Erin McGuire of Cornelius, NC, have earned top honors across the country, but this year’s clean sweep over fences marked a new milestone at the national championship. The pair was perfect over fences in the Regular Conformation Hunters presented by Dr. Betsee Parker, and with a second place win, they sealed the championship award, while Hunt Tosh and Cold Harbor, owned by Dr. Betsee Parker of Middleburg, VA, earned the reserve championship. McLain Ward was close on his heels aboard Pjotter Van De Zonnehoeve, while a fault-free round while Palm Sunday helped Aaron Vale round out the top three.

Richard Jeffery of Bournemouth, England, presented riders with a technical speed track that 35 entries tackled. It opened with a bending line from the in gate and also included an oxer-vertical and a vertical-oxer double combination. The first combination, a wide oxer by the gate, and a slick turn to one of the final fences, proved to be the most challenging areas.
