Wellington, FL (January 3, 2012) – New York Times bestselling author Tami Hoag, who is a professional Grand Prix dressage rider when she isn’t sitting at her keyboard pounding out suspenseful novels, is hitting the road to debut her newest novel, Down the Darkest Road. Hoag’s book tour started in Minnesota leads back to her home of Wellington, Florida, as she visits bookstores, meets fans and signs books in the South Florida area.

Hoag kicks off the Florida leg of her book tour Wednesday, January 4th at Murder on the Beach at 7 pm in Delray Beach, Florida, followed by the Wellington Barnes & Noble on Thursday, January 5 at 7 pm, located in The Shoppes at Wellington Green. On Saturday, January 7, Hoag will appear at the Vero Beach Book Center, in Vero Beach, at 3 pm.

Hoag, whose new novel will give horse fans and non-horse fans alike a thrill, will appear at Sho Clothes equestrian boutique on Tuesday, January 10 at 6:30 pm. Sho Clothes is well known for their high end dressage apparel and accessories and for hosting a monthly get together called “Shop Talk.” Hoag will be the guest speaker at the event – an evening that will feature a packed house of dressage enthusiasts eager to hear from their own hometown dressage star and world famous writer.

“I am really looking forward to my South Florida book tour,” Hoag said. “I was recently sidelined with a nasty sinus infection, but am feeling better now and can’t wait to meet my fans and talk about Down the Darkest Road. I am excited about the third book in this trilogy, and equally thrilled to be debuting this novel in the Wellington area, amongst friends and fellow riders who are some of my strongest supporters.”

Down the Darkest Road went on sale December 27th and Hoag said a book tour is a great way to kick off the New Year. “My equestrian friends will notice that this book has a horse in it named Bacchus, which of course is the name of one of my Grand Prix horses,” Hoag said. Down the Darkest Road takes place in California and features a cast of riveting characters that will take the reader on a suspenseful trip that ends with a heart-pounding twist. In typical Hoag style, fans won’t be able to put her latest novel down.

Hoag is known for her suspenseful page-turning novels and has 14 consecutive New York Times bestsellers to her credit with more than 35 million in print in more than 20 languages worldwide. While Hoag loves writing and taking part in book tours, horses, riding and showing are her true passion. She rides with Betsy Steiner and clinics with Olympic medalist Steffen Peters. During the winter show season, Hoag will compete her horses Lonestar and Bacchus de Light. “They are both Grand Prix horses and we will be showing in the CDIs. I missed most of the show season last year because of an injured knee, and now that it is healed I am really looking forward to being in the show ring this year,” she said.
