Charleston, South Carolina:  Happy 4th of July! Wow!  How are you, your horses and family surviving this heat?  Beat the heat and head to the Classic Company’s Charleston Horse Shows that kick off July 11 and run through July 21 at Mullet Hall Equestrian Center located in John’s Island, South Carolina!

The Charleston Horse Shows are the most well-loved, perfect horse shows for the entire family.  They are located just miles from the breathtaking beaches of Charleston, the historic charm of downtown and they just ooze with Southern hospitality.  Classic Company will again be pulling out all the stops to make sure your horse show competition is the best both in and out of the ring.  The Classic Company is celebrating its 20th anniversary at the Charleston site, and will be hosting its $25,000 Pony Hunter Derby Classic during Charleston II.

Bob Bell, President of Classic Company, said, “This is a special show for those trainers with fun loving customers.  We limit the stalls, only have four show rings and make sure there’s a social event each day for everyone!  And, it is very close to the beach!”

Bell continued, “The Charleston Classic has always been the Classic Company’s flagship show.  It started out as a horse show to help the club at Seabrook Island draw people to the islands.  That first small show twenty years ago helped to propel the Classic Company to a reputation of producing top equestrian events.”

Pony Hunters kick off the schedule on July 11 and the show features many hunter and jumper competition over the two weeks.  There is something for everyone on the show schedule and the town and beaches offer the rest.

“This is my first time showing at the Charleston Classic and I am so excited, “said Rachel Wadsworth of Flemington, New Jersey.  “I have this great horse, Captain Lymington, owned by Sara Kinard and this is the first time we’ll be showing together.  I have been riding him really well and we’ll be making our debut in the jumpers at the Charleston Classic.  My whole family is coming to town to watch us!”

“The schedule is really great here.  We start early and when we finish, everyone has time to put the horses away and head to the beach or to one of the great exhibitor parties.  It’s awesome!” said long-time vendor Dylan Thomas of Ocala, Florida.

“We’re excited that the Charleston Classic will be celebrating its 20th anniversary and are even more pleased to announce that we plan on holding a Grand Prix at the Charleston shows in 2013,” commented Bell.
