Attention All Dressage Riders Interested in Competing in $35,000 WEF Wellington Dressage Nations’ Cup CDIO3*!

Wellington, FL – March 7, 2012 – The deadline for riders to participate in the $35,000 WEF Wellington Dressage Nations’ Cup CDIO3*, presented by Stillpoint Farm, is fast approaching.  This prestigious event takes place April 12-15 at the Stadium show grounds of the Global Dressage Festival.

The CDIO3* features world-class teams of dressage riders and horses from the United States and foreign nations competing in the FEI Prix St. Georges, Intermediare I and Intermediare Freestyle classes.

US riders that would like to be considered for the team need to complete a declaration form and return it no later than March 9, 2012 to Jenny Van Wieren-Page, USEF Director of Dressage High Performance.

The CDIO3* has opportunities for riders as a team from one country or in a mixed team format.  The mixed teams consist of riders from foreign nations, the United States, Canada, or a combination of all three.  Interested competitors need to submit their names and teams to Lloyd Landkamer at dressagefestival@aol.com or call Lloyd Landkamer at 561-784-4279.

The event will be limited to approximately ten teams and 40 rides per day.  The teams will be formulated of small tour riders.  All countries will first be invited to send teams.  If ten teams are not sent by countries, the remaining number of teams will be made available to formulate mixed teams up to the maximum of ten teams.

All riders will participate in the FEI Prix St. Georges (PSG) test on Friday, April 13.  Following the PSG test, the top five teams of either three or four athletes will go forward to the FEI Intermediaire Freestyle, which takes place in the evening on Saturday, April 14.  The PSG test will be used only to determine the top five teams and not used to determine any final team placings. The remaining teams and individual athletes will go forward to the FEI Intermediaire I test to be held in the morning of Saturday, April 14.

There will also be a National Show running concurrently with the WEF Wellington Dressage Nations’ Cup.  The classes range from USDF Intro level to national Grand Prix.  There are also classes for Para-Equestrian competitors and qualifying classes for competitions including:

  • the Great American/USDF Regional Championships,
  • the USDF Dover Adult Amateur Medal Program,
  • the USEF Young Adult Brentina Cup Championships,
  • the USEF National Developing Horse Championship (sponsored by the Dutta Corp. and PSI),
  • the FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships,
  • and the Markel/USEF Young Horse Dressage Program
