North Salem, New York – July 13, 2012 – The American Gold Cup announced today that Samshield and Animo have joined forces with this year’s event as multiple class sponsors when the American Gold Cup returns to action in September at its new home at Old Salem Farm, in North Salem, NY.

The show is scheduled for September 12th through the 16th, 2012, with the famed $200,000 American Gold Cup, CSI4*-W, a FEI World Cup Qualifying Competition, as the highlight event on the final Sunday.

With its mixture of high style and high-tech functionality, Samshield has been the helmet of choice for many of Europe’s top riders. Now ASTM/SEI approved and available for purchase in the U.S., Samshield is delighted to offer American professional and amateur riders the ultimate in fit, safety and style.

“Samshield is the result of a mix between the pro and amateur rider’s needs, the young designer’s creative energy and engineer’s technical vision. Samshield’s philosophy is to always propose advanced products in terms of active and passive security, comfort, hygiene, material and finish quality as well as customization,” explained Julien Lecomte of Samshield USA.

The 2007 American Gold Cup Champion, Mario Deslauriers, is proud to ride in a Samshield helmet. “Compared to other helmets I’ve used in the past, Samshield offers incredible airflow. I never sweat in this helmet,” he said. The helmet offers unparalleled comfort. Most importantly, the helmet is very balanced; it does not slip down into my eyes while I’m riding.”

Animo’s revolution of the horse-riding world is total: the technical materials used are of the latest generation, providing total comfort and helping to improve the athletic performance of the riders.

“We have been impressed with the work and energy that Frank Madden and Eric Hasbrouck put in the Syracuse Horse Show before it move to Lexington, Kentucky, “Lecomte stated. “We figure that the combination of that experience, the prestige and the new location of the American Gold Cup will be the perfect match for Samshield and Animo. We sponsor Eric Hasbrouck and we’re hoping our exposure at the American Gold Cup will draw more riders towards our top quality products,” he said.

“Our goal with this sponsorship is to support our local and nationally sponsored riders, to work with Old Salem Farm, Frank Madden and his team and to meet our customers and future customers at this great American show jumping event,” Lecomte said.

“We are excited to have Samshield and Animo with us this year in North Salem,” said Michael Morrissey, President of Stadium Jumping, Inc., the organizers of the American Gold Cup. “Our event should be the perfect showcase for their new and innovative products, both the helmets and their fine clothing.”
