Lexington, KY – June 10, 2011 — The Alltech National Horse Show, 128th Edition, announced today that Pony Lane Farm has come on board as sponsors of this year’s High Performance Hunter Division.

The Alltech National Horse Show will be staged at the Alltech Arena at the world-renowned Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky, site of last year’s Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

In addition to the CSI-W 4* ranking from the FEI, this year’s Alltech National Horse Show will feature world-class hunter competition, including the Pony Lane Farm sponsored High Performance Hunter Division.

Pony Lane Farm, the leading USEF Hunter Owners for the 2009 and 2010 show seasons, is not only the home base for young riders Kelsey and Madeline Thatcher, but also home to popular breeding stallion Klotaire Du Moulin. Klotaire is by the legendary stallion Voltaire and is sire of many of this country’s top hunters. Klotaire competed this past summer in the Super League, winning top prizes at La Baule, Rome, Rotterdam and Dublin. Klotaire continues to compete in the U.S. at the Grand Prix level with owner Kelsey Thatcher and rider Maggie Jayne.

Pony Lane owner Maura Thatcher detailed the family atmosphere at her farm, saying, “Pony Lane is special because it is a family business.  My daughters love the horses and are always willing to help when they are home. It has been a great opportunity to be involved as a family in a special endeavor.”

Commenting on joining forces with this year’s Alltech National Horse Show, Thatcher added, “I decided to sponsor at the Alltech National Horse Show this year because I enjoy the indoor circuit and understand the challenges of putting on a show that has so much tradition. I also appreciate that others in our hunter jumper community have also become involved, and want to see its success.”

Alltech National Horse Show Manager Hugh Kincannon spoke of the hunters at this year’s competition, stating, “In the hunter divisions, we’re going to offer the most significant amount of prize money for any horse show anywhere in the United States. Also, we’re going to offer the greatest facility you could have. Our aim is to restore the National Horse Show to the top of our sport. We’re all very excited about it,” he said.

“The hunters were always a very special part of the National Horse Show. We intend to restore that glory when the event debuts in Kentucky,” said Alltech National Horse Show President Mason Phelps, Jr. “Pony Lane Farm’s involvement in the High Performance Hunters helps us in that endeavor.”

“I love the hunters and feel the High Performance Division is an opportunity to really show the athleticism of our hunters,” Thatcher remarked.

The Alltech National Horse Show, 128th Edition, will be held from November 2-6, 2011, at the beautiful, new Alltech Indoor Arena at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.

This year’s show, designated CSI4*-W, will feature a complete schedule of ‘AA’-rated hunter divisions, a big money Open Jumper division highlighted by the $250,000 Alltech National Horse Show Grand Prix, an FEI World Cup qualifying event, and as always, the signature event of the National Horse Show, the ASPCA Alfred B. Maclay Finals.

Founded in 1883 at the original Madison Square Garden, the National Horse Show is America’s oldest indoor horse show, firmly established as a major fixture on the national and international sports and social event calendars. The National Horse Show Association’s primary activity is the annual production of the National Horse Show and all ancillary events. Over the years, the National Horse Show has provided financial aid to many worthwhile charities.
