Wellington, FL – April 15, 2022 – The second week of the 2022 ESP Spring Series continued with FEI competition on the grass Derby Field at Equestrian Village on Friday, April 15, 2022. Continuing their winning streak, Brazil’s Santiago Lambre and All In Horses Cava secured their second victory this week after completing the fastest jump-off time in the $37,000 Nutrena 1.50m Classic CSI3*.

From a starting order of 16 entries, seven riders navigated through the course, set by Ken Krome (USA), with no faults to advance to the jump-off. Of the seven pairs, just three put in a second foot-perfect round. The first horse-and-rider combination to go clear was Paul O’Shea (IRL) and Team Eye Candy’s Hellcat, setting the time to beat at 46.50 seconds, which would hold up for second place. However, their time in the lead was cut short as Lambre and All In Horses Cava, owned by All In Horses, sped through the course in a swift 44.86 seconds, knocking nearly two seconds off O’Shea’s time. The final pair to place a clear round in the jump-off, Catherine Tyree (USA) and Bokai, owned by Catherine Tyree LLC, followed their lead but fell just behind O’Shea with a time of 49.24 seconds for third place.

Friday morning’s $5,000 Omega Alpha 1.35m Classic held on Equestrian Village’s Derby Annex Field saw 20 competitive entries test the first round, set by Catsy Cruz (MEX). Only seven horse-and-rider combinations advanced to the short course while five finished their day double clear. Ultimately, John Perez Bohm (COL) and Julio David Vainer’s entry, Cazaan, secured the leading time as the second-to-last pair in the jump-off. The winning pair crossed the timers in the jump-off at 38.774 seconds, edging out Baucis D’Ouilley, owned by H5 Sport Horses, and Enrique Gonzalez (MEX), who had a time of 40.269 seconds. Finishing in third place was Ireland’s Kevin Mealiff and the Oakland Ventures LLC entry, Schugga Tschei, after clearing the course in 40.563 seconds.
