2014 National Horse Show Will Be Webcast Daily on USEF Network

Lexington, KY – October 26, 2014 – The top-rated National Horse Show returns to the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky next week, beginning on Oct. 28 and running through Nov. 2, 2014 If you can’t make the trip to Lexington for this year’s show, you’ll still be able to catch all of the action via the show’s daily webcast.

The webcast will be produced by the highly acclaimed Pyramid Sports Timing, one of the top producers of equestrian competitions in the United States and all events will air on the USEF Network.

For each morning and afternoon session, rounds will be streamed live and the highlight events will feature color commentator Angela Covert and play-by-play man Brian Lookabill. On Sunday, special guest for the ASPCA Maclay webcast will be past champion Lillie Keenan.

With $755,000 in prize money offered, this year’s National Horse Show offers an International Open Jumpers with $460,000 in prize money, while the top rated hunter sections have a total purse of $195,000. Meanwhile, $100,000 in total is offered to the Amateur-Owner and U 25 Jumper sections.

The National Horse Show, for the fourth year in a row, received a top ranking from NARG, the North American Riders Group and was again named the Show Hunter Hall of Fame Horse Show of the Year in back to back years.

Mason Phelps, Jr., the President of the National Horse Show Association of America, welcomed Covert to this year’s webcast. “Angela has a tremendous personality and possesses a great knowledge of our sport. I’m anxious to hear her go to work.”

Covert is looking forward to this year’s assignment. “Even as a Canadian equestrian, I have always considered the National Horse Show to be one of the most prestigious horse shows in North America. When I was very young, the iconic National Horse Show at Madison Square Garden was part of the indoor circuit with our Royal Winter Fair. Since moving to Kentucky a few years ago, the organizers have somehow managed to preserve that prestigious feel, which is truly remarkable. I am very much looking forward to jumping in and giving it a go at the National Horse Show,” she continued. “I am very excited to be working with Brain Lookabill. He has so much experience and knowledge and is definitely one of the best in the business.”
