Once again, FCHJA is pleased to hold the Horse of the Year Competition. Categories for this will be:

A horse or pony may enter only one Horse of the Year class even though the horse may have qualified in multiple divisions or with multiple riders. No substitute riders will be permitted. Each Horse of the Year class will be one round over fences at the appropriate height. Ribbons and payback to six places will be awarded. The winner at each height will also receive a special prize. Good Luck to everyone!
Notes From The President
Hi – we hope that everyone enjoyed the Sept Benefit Show and that all of the exhibitors got to take home a few goodies courtesy of our generous sponsors. FCHJA would like to thank everyone who sponsored, donated, volunteered, and participated in this event. Because of everyone’s effort FCHJA was able to make a generous donation of $5000.00 to the Hope Therapy. It’s so exciting to finish up a very successful showing season with our Horse of the Year show! Be sure to look in the program to see if your horse qualified for these very special classes. As we count our blessings this year we want to thank some very special people who help make our shows so successful.
We owe a BIG BIG thanks to Mr. George Hellard who headed up our set-up, tear-down, and dragging crew, your hardworking ring stewards & jump crew, night watchman, stall cleaners, and to your wonderful FCHJA Board Members for all their hard work – they are the BEST!
Please remember that the NFHJA “Weekend for Warriors” Benefit Show is Nov 14th and 15th. This is a wonderful opportunity to support our wounded soldiers as well as show what great horses we have. We will have 20 tickets as pre-entry prizes for the evening equestrian entertainment on Nov 14th. Let’s all turn out to support this great benefit show.
We have also decided to use the beautiful tack trunk donated to FCHJA that did not sell at the Silent Auction as an opportunity to raise money for the Food Bank of Green Cove Springs. We will have tickets for a chance to win this trunk at the show ($1.00 each or 6 tickets for $5.00). You can also buy them at the Banquet in Dec and we will pick the winner at the FCHJA Awards Banquet – what a great holiday present for your favorite rider!
Additionally, in the spirit of the season we are asking everyone to bring a new unwrapped toy to the Nov show – this will be our first holiday toy drive and hope it will be a huge success! In return we will give you free schooling at the show. Yeah – a win-win for everyone! Think of all the happy faces …
If you have any questions about points please let the Show Secretary know at the show. An updated version of the points will be sent out to all FCHJA members via our email list.
Don’t forget the Annual Awards Banquet on Saturday December 5th at the St. Augustine Rod & Gun Club. There is a reservation form in the program or you can include your reservations in your show payment at the November show. We always have fun and a few surprises that night so please come join in the holiday celebration.
An application for FCHJA Membership is in your showbill. Get your membership in before January 1st, 2010 and we’ll give you a free class at a 2010 show!
2009 has been a wonderful year of growth for First Coast Hunter Jumper. We look forward to even more success in 2010. We hope everyone has a happy holiday season and we’ll see you in Feb 2010 – mark your calendars on Feb 20th for FCHJA’s first 2010 show.
