FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

mustiqueConyers, GA – April 10, 2007 – The team from SBS Farms had another successful week at the second of two shows in the Atlanta Spring Classic Horse Show series. Trainer/rider Jennifer Alfano, junior rider Kacey McCann and amateur rider Meredith Lipke Bartolone swept the main prizes in their divisions.

Alfano, who lives in Buffalo, NY, where SBS Farms is based, had a great week in the professional hunter divisions. On Sting, owned by SBS Farms, she was champion in the Green Conformation Hunters. Sting won three classes in the division. “We took our time with him,” said SBS Farms head trainer, Susie Schoellkopf. “He did the Pre-Greens in the last week of Ocala, and he stepped up this week in Atlanta. Jennifer is really, really excited about him.”

On Sharon O’Neill’s Amherst, Alfano was champion in the Pre-Green Hunters. Amherst won three out of the four classes and then went on to win the Pre-Green Hunter Classic. “Amherst is such a nice young horse. I think the ‘green-horse-lightbulb’ turned on, and he figured it out this week,” Schoellkopf remarked.

Continuing their incredible winning streak, Alfano and Rock Star, owned by Bright Star 158 LLC, were champions in Regular Working Hunters after they won four out of the five classes in the division.

Kacey McCann (16) of Palmyra, PA, piloted Pirate once again this week for owner Caroline Moran and trainer Scott Williamson. They repeated their championship performance from last week after they won two over fences classes. McCann won another jumping class and the under saddle on Mustique, owned by SBS Farms and Don Stewart Jr. Mustique was reserve champion in the division and led the victory gallop in the Small Junior Hunter Classic.

“We are so excited for Kacey to have two really nice junior hunters right now,” Schoellkopf said. “We had watched Pirate, and we all liked him a lot. He jumps beautifully, and Kacey just loves him.”

On her equitation horse Comanche, McCann was second in the WIHS Equitation class hunter phase and won the jumper phase for the overall win in the class.

Meredith Lipke Bartolone, another Buffalo-based rider, swept the Amateur-Owner 36 & Over Hunter division. She and Once and Again won two classes and were champions, while Churchill won another class and was the reserve champion. Churchill also came in first place for the Amateur-Owner Hunter Classic.

“This was such a good week for Meredith. She’s really starting to click with Churchill,” Schoellkopf acknowledged.

SBS Farms will compete next at the Queen City Classic Horse Show in Charlotte, NC, on April 11-15, 2007. For more information on SBS Farms, please visit www.thebtrc.org.
