MAGDALINE - BETH UNDERHILLOCALA, FL (February 19, 2007) Sunday's $50,000 EMO Grand Prix at HITS Post Time Farm could have been a national holiday in Canada, as Canadian Olympian Beth Underhill and Magdaline outdueled fellow countryman, Hugh Graham and Polyfax, to secure the blue ribbon and conclude the Ocala Winter Classic.

Underhill was first to go in the jump-off and set the Great American Time to Beat at a blistering 42.908. "It is usually a disadvantage to go first in the jump-off, but my mare is deceptively fast and laid down a great track with a fast time."

"I haven't seen a horse jump like that in a long time," said course designer Ken Krome. "I don't think Beth rubbed a rail all day long. It was like watching an equitation horse."

HITS' Senior Vice President , Tony Hitchcock, and a representatives from EMO congratulate Beth Underhill on her victory in the $50,000 EMO Grand Prix.

Underhill was joined by three other horse/rider combinations in the jump-off, after Krome's first round course got the best of 32 other competitors. Callan Solem and Allison were next to go in the jump-off. A rail down at the final effort pushed her into third place.

Hugh Graham and Polyfax were next to go, but their time of 43.550 would only be good enough for second place and $11,000 in prize money for Canada's King Ridge Stables. "Hugh rode very smart and answered all of the course's technical questions. He was very deserving of second place and could have won on any other day."

Sergio Campos, the hottest rider on the HITS Ocala Winter Circuit, had the envious last to ride position. However, today was not Campos' day, as his mount Cognac Do Jacare finished with four faults. His fourth place finish was the first time in three Grand Prix classes at HITS Post Time Farm that Campos did not make the victory gallop. Campos was also fifth aboard Shakira Do Jacare to secure $7,000 in prize money.

Aaron Vale finished with three horses in the money, but is still looking for his first victory of the winter at HITS Ocala.

Show jumping at HITS Ocala resumes on Wednesday, February 21, with the Ocala Winter Festival. Thursday's featured class is the $25,000 Ariat Grand Prix and on Sunday, February 25, competitors will take aim at the winners share of the $50,000 Duggan Equipment Grand Prix.

But before the first horse enters the ring in Sunday's featured class all exhibitors are invited to preview the brand new exclusive homes within walking distance to show grounds. The project will be gated and limited to 29 units, offering 1,700 to 2,400 square feet of living area.

"This is the only housing project with direct access to the horse show grounds," said HITS President Tom Struzzieri. "The homes are ideal for a family. They allow children to go back and forth both to the barns
and the school. If you winter in Ocala, you must see this development."

The development will be named, "Post Time Condominiums" and each home comes completely furnished. Currently, four models are complete. The open house will be from noon until 5 pm and food will be served courtesy of Felix's Restaurant.

HITS is proud to host competitions in its new Grand Prix ring and new Main Hunter ring with a raised berm for VIP seating that overlooks both rings. These rings are located at the east end of the current show ring area. Both rings feature state-of-the-art footing provided by Footing Authority, a division of International Surfaces Group, Inc. The Grand Prix ring will feature Polyrite; the industry's most advanced polymer-coated synthetic footing, while the Main Hunter ring will provide a soft ride on EuroFelt ® -enhanced footing.

"The ring is very picturesque and the footing is great," said Underhill. " I will be here in Ocala every week this winter. I wouldn't miss it!"

Since its introduction in 1982, the HITS Ocala Winter Circuit has become a fixture on the East Coast show jumping circuit. Each winter, the Ocala Circuit attracts national and international participants from the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe. Classes offered range from the Grand Prix show jumping classes to a selection of divisions for both the beginning and experienced rider. Located in Ocala/Marion County, the heart of Florida's horse country, the area is home to over 600 horse farms and hundreds of supporting facilities and businesses. HITS moved the Ocala horse shows from the 100-acre Golden Hills International Show Grounds to the circuit's new home, the 300+ acre Post Time Farm in 2002. HITS Post Time Farm is located just a few miles west of the Golden Hills International Show Grounds on Highway 27. The Post Time Training Center was originally built for thoroughbred racehorses. The facility is professionally landscaped and features gated entrances, 52 miles of four-board fencing, 26 permanent barns that house 500 stalls, numerous paddocks, bridle paths, and additional buildings for the horse show office, restaurant, and on-site school.
