2005 10th
Annual International Centered Riding Symposium November 4-6
in BrattleboroVT
At the 2004
Symposium, Sally Swift brought it to our attention
that 2005 would be the 10th aniversary of our Symposium
and she hopes that more people will make a special effort
to attend this Centered Riding celebration.
Mark November
4-6 on your calenders and plan to attend! This year's
Symposium is being co-chaired by Elaine Merideth Steele elaine@trinergy.net and
Sally Haney halfhalt@verizon.net.
So that Sally Swift is able to attend, the Symposium is
again being held in Sally's home town Brattleboro, Vermont at the Quality
Inn. Elaine & Sally are busy developing our most
exciting symposium to date. They are lining up
an exciting roster of speakers including Max Gawyler,
reknowned clinician and author. This is a great opportunity
to meet Sally Swift in person and network with like-minded
people. Details will be announced in this newsletter
as speakers are confirmed. The Quality Inn has a block
of rooms reserved for us at a discounted price that
includes an excellent hot buffet breakfast.
Once again
there will be a Silent Auction and a Used books etc Sale to benefit the
Sally Swift Scholarship Fund. If you or someone you know
would like to make a donation to either of these, please
contact Karen Irland barngirl@bignetnorth.net, "Sam" Morrison wlcmhome@megalink.net,
or Sue Leffler sleffler@magma.ca.
For more information
about this special event, contact Elaine at elaine@trinergy.net.
The Brattleboro
Quality Inn is again offering us an excellent room
rate which includes a daily hot buffet breakfast.

Sally Swift
Update
Sally Swift
is being featured on the back page of the April
edition of Equus in honor of her 92nd birthday.
Yes! Sally does indeed turn 92 on April 20! It was wonderful
spending time with her last November - she looked better
and was stronger than she had been in the past couple of
years. Join us at the Symposium in November as we pay tribute
to Sally who founded Centered Riding.
Congratulations!
Congratulations
to Susan Harris!
In October 2004 Susan was presented with the highest
award granted by the American Riding Instructor Association
that of Master Instructor. Other recipients
of this award have included Sally Swift, George Morris,
Lendon Gray etc. Susan is a Senior Level IV Centered
Riding Clinician who apprenticed with Sally Swift in
1989. She is the author of several books and the creator
of the very popular Anatomy in Motion videos and demos
The Visble Horse and with Peggy Brown The Visible Rider.
Congratulations
to Gail Field on
