2005 10th
Annual International Centered Riding Symposium November 4-6
in Brattleboro VT Plan to attend
this 10th aniversary of our Symposium! A very
special event is planned. Here is your chance to meet
Sally Swift in person - she's 92 in April - and she
hopes that everyone will make a special effort
to attend this Centered Riding celebration.
This year's
Symposium is being co-chaired by Elaine Merideth
Steele elaine@trinergy.net and Sally Haney halfhalt@verizon.net. So that Sally Swift is able to attend, the
Symposium is again being held in Sally's home
town Brattleboro, Vermont at the Quality Inn. Elaine & Sally
along with vice-chairs Heidi Potter potter5@sover.net and Mary Olson, are
busy developing our most exciting symposium
to date. They are lining up an exciting roster of
speakers including Max Gawyler, reknowned clinician
and author. This is a great opportunity to meet Sally
Swift in person and network with like-minded people.
Details will be announced in this newsletter as speakers
are confirmed. Once again
there will be a Silent Auction and a Used books etc
Sale to benefit the Sally Swift Scholarship Fund.
If you or someone you know would like to make a donation
to either of these, please contact Karen Irland barngirl@bignetnorth.net, "Sam" Morrison wlcmhome@megalink.net, or Sue Leffler sleffler@magma.ca.
For more information
about this special event, contact Elaine at elaine@trinergy.net.
The Brattleboro
Quality Inn is again offering us an excellent
room rate which includes a daily hot buffet breakfast.
Instructor
Courses
My appologies!
I missed listing the course being held in Austria. Centered Riding
Instructor Courses are being offered this year in the
USA and in Europe. At this time these are the only
Instructor Courses being offered this year. For those
of you wanting to join the swelling ranks of CR Instructors,
you will need to ride in an Open CR clinic prior to
taking the Instructor Course. Check the website for
a list of all the prerequisites.

continue to be added throughout the year so keep

Centered Riding
in the News
Sally Swift
is being featured on the back page of the April edition
of Equus in honor of her 92nd birthday.
Yes! Sally does indeed turn 92 on April 20! It was
wonderful spending time with her last November -
she looked better and was stronger than she had been
in the past couple of years. Join us at the Symposium
in November as we pay tribute to Sally who founded Centered
Riding.
March issue
of America's Horse has
an article called "Age Ain't No Roadblock" by
Judith Snyder. In it she discuss the advantages
of Centered Riding for the aging rider and quotes
Sue Leffler, Centered Riding Level IV Clinician.
Congratulations!
Congratulations
are in order for Judy Cross, Centered Riding level
IV Clinician who has awarded Advanced Instructor
level for North American for the Handicapped Association.
