1.  No new clinical cases reported today.
2.   No new quarantines issued today.
3. There are ten quarantined premises, seven in the Wellington area, one in Ocala, FL, one in Jupiter, FL, and one in Indiantown, FL.

Current Operations:

1.   Three teams are working in the West Palm Beach area checking quarantined premises.

2.    Dr. Julie Gauthier is working with area veterinarians and stables to deal with specific issues associated with the disease outbreak.

3.    Mark Fagan is the Public Information Officer (PIO) and communicating with local municipalities and media representatives.

4.    Palm Beach County animal control and emergency management officials are attending briefings at the ICP and are providing resources.

5.     EHV1 exposed horses are being tracked.
            
Future Operations:
 
1.  Teams will continue to visit quarantined premises daily.

2.  Continued EHV exposed horse tracing.

Dec. 29, 2006 Current Situation: One new confirmed case of equine herpesvirus located at a facility already under state quarantine.  No new quarantines issued as of Dec. 28th

Dec. 28, 2006 No new confirmed cases or quarantines at this time.  Three strike teams collected temperature check charts, stall inventories, and trainer contacts from all facilities under mandatory state quarantine. Dr. Diane Kitchen is tracing movements of the exposed and infected horses. Dr. Mike Short is corresponding with area veterinarians on health and testing issues. Public Information Officer Mark Fagan is preparing Spanish language information sheets for distribution. (FLSART)
