CURRENT OPERATIONS:
1. ESF17 Incident Command Post established in Kissimmee at Osceola IFAS Extension Office
2. Assessment and Response teams deployed into impacted area
3. State Agricultural Response Team (SART) partner agencies assisting with damage assessments and response activities
4. Assessments from dairy industry report all SMI dairies are up and running, except two at this time.
5. Assessments from producers of ornamental plants, cold weather crops, sugar cane and avocados indicate severe damage. Over one billion dollars in damage.
6. Severe fuel shortages. Matching fuel suppliers with veterinary hospitals animal shelters and dairy producers on generator power
7. Miami SPCA destroyed. Rescued 18 horses and assisting with relocation.
8. FDACS, Agriculture Environmental Services establishing Incident Command Post for mosquito spraying issues
9. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission assessing captive wildlife/exotic animal facilities
10. Monitoring Tracker for information and resource requests
FUTURE OPERATIONS:
1. Continued crop damage assessments
2. Continued veterinary facilities assessment and support
3. Support feed mills in Okeechobee area. Only one in three operational at this time.
