Breyer Model Horse by USET Foundation
Gladstone, NJ- June 29- The USET Foundation is pleased to
announce that Winsome Adante, owned by Plain Dealing Farm
of Scottsville, VA, and ridden by Kim Severson, has been
chosen as the 2005 USET Foundation Breyer model horse. Winsome
Adante, an 11 year old English-bred Thoroughbred gelding,
is the tenth Breyer model in this popular series.
Winsome Adante, better known as “Dan,” won his
first three-day event in 2000 and went on to become one of
the most decorated three-day eventing horses in history. Dan
won England’s prestigious Blenheim CCI *** in 2001
and their first Rolex Kentucky CCI**** in 2002. He and
Severson also helped clinch the Team Gold at the 2002 World
Equestrian Games in Jerez, Spain.
In 2003, Severson broke her leg, while Dan suffered a heartbeat
irregularity and later colicked. Though sidelined for
awhile, they returned stronger than ever, and the result
was well worth the wait. The pair hit their stride in
2004, winning their second Rolex Kentucky CCI****. The
highpoint of their careers came at the 2004 Olympic Games
in Athens, Greece. Winsome Adante and Severson came
away with the Individual Silver and Team Bronze medals.
It
was a dream come true for Severson, and a personal best for
her fearless mount, who was rewarded with his third United
States Eventing Association “Horse of the Year” title,
which he also won in 2001 and 2002. In 2005, Dan and
Severson won their third Rolex Kentucky CCI****. Being
only 11 years old, Dan is expected to continue his dominance
for years to come. He and Severson will travel to England
this September to compete at Burghley CCI****.
Linda Wachtmeister, president of Plain Dealing Farm, is
very excited about her horse becoming a Breyer model. “I
had them when I was growing up, and my kids have tons of
them. We’ve been collecting them like crazy for
a long time,” she explained. “To have our
horse as a Breyer is a huge honor.”
The Breyer “Cigar” racehorse mold was modified
to create an accurate model of Winsome Adante. The specially
designed Winsome Adante horse will be limited to a run of
750. In the past, the USET Foundation models have sold
out quickly and become true collectibles for horse enthusiasts. The
model includes a “Story Card” on the back of
the box and features printed signatures by Kim Severson and
Linda Wachtmeister. The model will first be available
for sale at the Fair Hill International CCI*** in Maryland
on October 15-16, 2005. After the event, the remaining
models will fill the mail/fax pre-orders in the order in
which they were received.
To reserve your models, please send your payment of $50.00
+$7.50 (shipping/handling) per horse by check, money order,
